INTERPROGRAM: BOLIVIA - CHILE - ARGENTINA - PERU

COLCA CANYON - MISTI - CHACHANI (23 Days)

BOLIVIA- PERU

This package with a duration of 24 days, offers a fascinating tour which spands two countries the Northwest high plateau and the southern region of Peru. Arequipa is located an altitude of 2.360 m. in the border of the southern coastal zone and the "Sierra" at the fool of three snow capped volcanoes: Chachani, Pichu Pichu and the famous Misti. It is main feature is the light grey of the "sillar" (volcanic stone) building and it is Colonial architecture. Arequipa is know as: "The white city". The Santa Catalina Convent; a rather small .town with an area of 20.426 square m. retaining the typical features of the 16 and 17th centuries with picturesque streets with names of Spanish cities and secret passages with numerous cells.

This program is a combination of the various kinds of tours, offered by Andes Guarachi expeditions, offering trekking, mountaineering and overland tours by 4x4 WD vehicle.

SCHEDULE:
DAY 01: Arrival to the Alto International airport (4.000 m), transfer IN airport hotel 3.600 m. Night Hotel.
DAY 02: Full day city Tours of La Paz and the Moon valley. Night Hotel.

EXCURSION TITIKAKA LAKE (Wiñay Marka)

DAY 03: Excursion to lake Titikaka (3.810 m.) motor boat cruise to Suriqui / kalauta Island, return to the Village Huatajata. Night Hotel.

LLAMA TREKKING

DAY 04: Journey from Huatajata to the village Huarizata (4.000 m). Night camping on the shores of Cacha Lagoon (4.600 m). Night Camping.
DAY 05: First day of trekking: Trough the high pass of La Calzada (5.000 m), from which you will view various landscapes to the east; west, north and south, from the base camp you will reach the top in about 3 hours then descend to the northern side of the valley and river of Chacolpaya (4.200 m). Night Camping.
DAY 06: Trek: Chacolpaya–Coocoyo, this day will hike to the north near the Royal Range ad across the Zarani high pass (4.800 m). We will set camp in the cultivated of Coocoyo (3.600 m.). Night Camping.
DAY 07: Hike across the Coocoyo stanza an Andean village located in a beautiful valley (3.600 m. above sea level), continuing on to cross the high pass Polo Sur (4.472 m.) our camp will be located at the Mt. Illampu is gap, total activity approximately 7 hours. Night Camping.
DAY 08: Trekking to Aguas Calientes (4.700 m.), located on the northern side and used by climbers as the Mt. Illampu base camp: the ascent hiking last five hours, to camp at 4.700 m. Night Camping.
DAY 09: Ascent to the high camp (5.200 m), Night Camping.
DAY 10: Climb to the summit of pico Schulze (5.700 m.) descent and return to the high camp. Night Camping.
DAY 11: Descent hike: base camp Ancohuma village (4.050 m.). Night Camping.
DAY 12: Pick up by 4X4 vehicle transport from Ancohuma village to the nice village of Sorata (2.700 m.), located in a beautiful valley at the foot of Illampu. Night Hotel.

LAKE TITIKAKA – NORTHERN SIDE

DAY 13: Long journey by exclusive vehicle transport from Sorata – Copacabana (3.810 m), Long journey by Bus, crossing the Bolivia – Perú international bounded pass, continue journey Perú arrived at the city of Puno (3.810 m). Night Hotel.

PERU - PROGRAM IN PUNO

DAY 14: MORNING: Excursion to the Urus archaeological site of Sillustani return to Puno. Night Hotel.
DAY 15: Long journey by vehicle from Puno to Arequipa (2.524 m). Night hotel (we recommending fly Juliaca – Arequipa).

PROGRAM IN AREQUIPA

DAY 16: City tour in Arequipa visit to the cloister of Santa Catalina, the church of La Compañía de Jesus. Night Hotel.

MAJES CANYON – RIO COLCA (2.200 Mts. above sea level)

DAY 17: Journey by exclusive vehicle transport to the region of the Majes Canyon and Rio Colca (2.200 m). Night Refuge.

CHACHANI VOLCANO (6.057 Mts. above sea level)

DAY 18: Long journey approximation to the Chachani Volcano base camp (5.484 m). Night Camping.
DAY 19: Ascent to the Chachani Volcano summit (6.057 m), descent and return to the base camp. Night Camping.
DAY 20: Journey and return to Arequipa, Night Hotel.
DAY 21: Transfer T–OUT hotel–airport to board your flight and end of our services

VERY IMPORTANT:
All members of the Expedition to the mountain and volcanoes must have the complete personal climbing equipment:
- Rucksack 70 lts/ Trekking boots, Climbing plastic boots/ Crampons/ Ice axe / ice pick, Harness/ Pairs of waterproof gaiters./ A pairs of prussic / Feather sleeping bag able to withstand temperatures –20oC for altitude site./ Respective mat and insulated pad / Cold protective jacket / gore-tex / Rain and wind jacket / anorak Rain and cold protective pants./ Snow stick/ Several pairs of good cold protective wool socks / Good cold protective gloves /Good wool scarf/ Sun and cold protective caps / Sun and cold protective creams / A lamp with new batteries / Individual water bottles /Personal first aid kit / Warn clothing for altitude sites /A small notebook.

As well as for developing the trek member of the expedition must have the complete personal hiking equipment.
