Ojos del salado volcano is situated
at 250 Km. In the north-west of the
city of Copiapo in the northern third
region of Chile.
The
ascent of this volcano is not technically
difficult, but requires good physical
conditions and strength. This region
is very cold; therefore, good low-temperature
equipment is indispensable.

Llullaillaco with and elevation set at 6.723
m, is climbed by some people to be the highest
in the world. However, Ojos del Salado. Llullaillaco
is in that part of the Atacama desert that
is widest; therefore, it is very dry this
dryness coupled with the almost absence of
roads or railways maker climbing very difficult
all mountains on the over 5.000 m, all are
volcanic.
